This chapter begins as Nemu provides Mayuri with a flesh supplement and states that was the real reason she came out. Mayuri asks if she noticed that he did not bring his with him to which she agrees to. He then calls her creepy for observing him so much.
He uses his new shoes to project himself upwards as Pernida shoots arrows at him which he dodges. He reveals his plans as he carries them out. He scatters concentrated narcotics round the area and states it will affect him as well. He tells Nemu that her job is to inject the nerves with a coagulating agent which will freeze any organs connected to them. He says that he shall kill Pernida by making his blood coagulate inside his body.
Nemu is now able to step on the nerves and inject them. Pernida’s clones begin to freeze and so does he. Mayuri tells him that it’s over but Pernida says that’s not enough to kill him as he cuts his finger off. Mayuri notices he sounds like Zaraki and realises that he gains the features of whatever his nerves touch and so he is able to evolve. He also notices that with Zaraki’s speed, Nemu won’t make it in time and screams that she should stop. He then observers that Pernida is using his bankai’s power to remove that layer of frozen skin.
We then see Nemu look up at Pernida while she calls Mayurs name after which the chapter ends.
